What causes stretch marks and why are they different colors?
Stretch marks are cause by denaturing of collagen and elastin in the superficial layer of the skin due to stretching of or stress to the skin. Stretch marks typically first appear as red, pink, or purple lines because of the blood vessels under that thin portion of the skin. Over time, the blood vessels heal, and the lines often fade and become less noticeable and can change color from red/purple to silver/white.
How many treatments are required?
Visible results can be seen after just one treatment, however depending on the severity of the mark you may want to consider a series of treatments.
